Conclusion of each music magazine

Each music magazine I've analysed including NME, Kerrang and Q are all very popular. In my opinion both NME and Q are the better magazines. They both have a far more grid like structure with their writing and images being placed in a neater way in comparison to Kerrang which is far more busy in that it has subsidary images basically anywhere on the page. Kerrangs front cover is mostly quite dark with harsh colours such as black, red and yellow and not much white which NME and Q both use. I think the colour white gives a lighter portrayal of magazines. It however does show that Kerrang magazine is dark and contains more heavy music rather than NME or Q which cover more relevant artists who's genre is perhaps pop, rock or indie. They are not so dark genres of music.

Again in terms of contents pages both NME and Q have structures which I prefer in comparison to Kerrang. This is because NME and Q each have a more clear type of contents pages with information on relevent things. Also, Kerrang's colour scheme again of black, yellow and red gives a tacky, look however NME and Q's colour scheme of red, white, grey anad black looks more profesional and modern look.

Magazine article analysis: Kerrang

This double page spread for Kerrang is very minimal in terms of the content on the page. Kerrang is usually a busy magazine with a lot of picutres on the page.
This article on Teen Spirit has a grid like structure on the right and the main image takes up the whole of the left side.

Magazine article analysis: NME

The overall appearance of the double page spread is extremly girly. The background colour is light pink as is the masthead. It is evident to the reader that NME in this case, also appeals to females.
The main image of Nicki Minaj shows her looking directly into the camera used to capture the image with a neutural facial expression. Her zebra print costume stands out to the reader due to the contrasting colours of black and white against the pink background. The image of Nicki over laps part of the ma. This results in the readers attention being firstly on the main image.
The The writing of the article is in a grid like stucture, surrounding the main image.
